effect from April 1, 2001, we
have separated the chemicals business
from the consumer products business
to have an added focus. We
are the pioneers in the oleochemicals
industry in India. As part of
meeting the challenges of globalisation,
we have decided to focus on international
markets by going in for value-added
products in niche markets.
Our
approach to business has been
providing international class
service to our customers. As part
of the Godrej Group, we have a
corporate image of quality and
integrity. We
shall strive for excellence by
nurturing, developing and empowering
our employees, by encouraging
an open atmosphere conducive to

Godrej Industries, an
integral part of the US$1.875 billion
Godrej Group, is India's leading manufacturer
of oleochemicals. The company makes
more than hundred chemicals and exports
its products to more than 40 countries.
Products from the GIL portfolio are
used in a variety of applications: cosmetics,
tyres, detergents, pharmaceuticals,
cigarettes, toothpaste and more.
The company has modern, integrated chemical
factories at Valia in the Indian state
of Gujarat and at Vikhroli in suburban
Mumbai.
Godrej Industries leads the Indian market
in the production of fatty acids, fatty
alcohols and AOS. It is among the top three largest
producers of glycerine in the country.
